Google Again ?

Just when you thought the Google reigned.. SearchMash came along. Or, did Google? At first glance, SearchMash looks like a normal search engine. You goto the main page, type in your search phrase and see the results.

Look at the about page and you see this:

" SearchMash is a website operated by Google Inc. ("we" or "us") and your use of the site is subject to the following terms and conditions (the "Terms of Service")."

and there is a note that it is for personal usage only.

" SearchMash is made available for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use SearchMash to sell a product or service, or to increase traffic to your Web site for commercial reasons, such as advertising sales. You may not take the results from a SearchMash search and reformat and display them, or mirror any SearchMash page or results pages on your Web site. You may not "meta-search" SearchMash."

It is definatly Google though:

Interesting enough is the date it was created

    Created on…………..: 2006-Sep-13.

Whereas Google itself shows it has been around a while.

    Created on…………..: 1997-Sep-15.
    Expires on…………..: 2011-Sep-14.
Record last updated on..: 2006-Sep-07 10:17:02.

Makes me wonder what Google has planned. Did you notice the way the results scroll from page 1 to page 2 when you do a search on SearchMash? Could this be the next Google… Literally?
